Pizza tends to be the most common dinner for most households across America. When I’m getting adventurous in the kitchen and it totally backfires, pizza is always there to save the day. Unfortunately there’s usually nothing particularly glamorous or special about pizza and you can get sort of burnt out on the same old delivery pizza you always order.
So I was thrilled when Wheat Penny Oven & Bar opened on Wayne Avenue in the former Coco’s Bistro location because it was just neat that there would be a new pizza place nearby. I had heard that this restaurant is an extension of the Meadowlark, which is famous for their amazing cuisine.
And wow, the pizza really blew me away! The toppings combinations are so creative and I absolutely loved the crust. We ordered the Bright Eyes, which includes zucchini, red peppers, feta, and lemon slices.
The dessert was divine. We had the flourless hazelnut chocolate cake.
This place is amazing and I can’t wait to try new things at Wheat Penny again and again!

Welcome!I love Dayton, I've lived here for all of my 26 years and don't plan on settling anywhere else. I started this blog as a way to showcase the best of Dayton (as seen through my perspective) and also to share some of the things that occupy space in my mind, namely beauty, home decor, quotes, and various aspects of my life.
